Bringing Fun and Connection Through Hokkien

Bringing Fun And Connection Through Hokkien
What is 'Bringing Fun And Connection Through Hokkien' About?
In modern-day Singapore, the youngest generation and oldest generation can't seem to understand and communicate with each other. 'Bringing Fun And Connection Through Hokkien' is a thematic attraction that aims to bridge the connection between these two generations. This attraction is strategically planned to be near the Singapore River, where the Hokkien people used to live, at GoFlyKite RC Kite Flying Field, near the Fort Canning MRT Exit B.

Plan View of Attraction
1. Let's Cha Cha Together (Let's Dance Together)
Inspired by the dance machine in arcades, 'Let's Cha Cha Together' is a game that challenges visitors and their friends to complete Hokkien phrases by stepping onto the interactive panel.
2. Entrance of attraction - Wall of Phrase
Inspired by the playgrounds, a wall with blocks that creates Hokkien phrases vertically when being flipped around. Visitors can get to interact and learn basic Hokkien phrases here before entering the attraction.
3. Jit Cai Lai Talk (Let's Chit Chat)
Inspired by the scene of uncles chatting with each other in the void deck, in this activity, visitors will interact with the uncle on the screen to learn some daily Hokkien phrases the elderly use.
4. Qi Kua Mai (Let's Try)
A booth where visitors can try out filters that give them a test on pronouncing hokkien phrases and sentences.
5. Kiong He Fat Choi (Let's Prosper)
Inspired by house visiting during Chinese New Year, visitors will get to learn Chinese New Year phrases in Hokkien, to say to their relatives when visiting.
6. Resting Zone
This zone is strategically planned to be in the center of the attraction such that visitors can take a short rest when they get tired.
7. Kiosk or Chaos
At the near end of this attraction, there will be kiosks for visitors to gather all their learnings by answering questions on the interactive screen.
8. Lim Teh Together (Let's Drink Tea)
Inspired by how the older generation orders their drink in the coffee shop, visitors will get to learn phrases used when ordering a drink.
9. Let's Bui Cai (Let's Buy Vegetable)
Inspired by daily life at the wet market, visitors will get to learn some of the vegetable names, as well as numbers.
10. Merchandise Shop
At the end of the attraction, there is a small merchandise shop for visitors to spend their money.
Media Press Conference
A media press conference was launched to publish this attraction. The blocks of Hokkien words at the entrance of the conference were inspired by the 'Wall Of Phrase', which is at the entrance of the attraction itself. The stage is inspired by the 'Let's Cha Cha Together (Let's Dance Together)' activity at the attraction such that friends from the media industry can get to try it out.

Touchpoint of the conference - Jit Cai Lai Talk (Let's Chit Chat)
Inspired by uncles talking under the void deck, the media friends can get first-hand experience with these interactive screens to learn about Hokkien phrases, which is one of the activities at the attraction.
Guerilla Marketing
Advertisement to promote the 'Bringing Fun and Connection Through Hokkien' is strategically put up at bus stop notice board and MRT door as this is the top two public transport my target audience uses to commute. There will also be a guerilla advertisement on the escalator of MRT stations so that people will feel more curious about it and they will check the attraction out.
